Parking lot concrete

What does it take to pour a concrete parking lot?

A parking lot has a harder life than a driveway. Cars, delivery trucks and weather work on it every day, so the concrete needs to be sized and reinforced for the traffic it will see. At Rytren Concrete in Pearland, TX, a lot job starts with Eric walking the site: how much area there is, what surface is down now, how trucks and crew will get in, and how your business uses the space. From there the crew forms the work, sets steel and pours, then finishes the surface. We take on new lots and the replacement of damaged sections, and we work with businesses across Pearland and the towns around it. Size, thickness, steel, demolition of the old surface and access all shape the quote, and Eric explains each one before any work is scheduled, so you know what you are paying for and why.

Section replacement

Replacing sections on a working lot

Not every lot needs to be torn out. On a storage-facility job in our own photos, the damaged sections of the lot were cut out for replacement.

  • Damaged sections cut out. Squares of old concrete are removed, leaving the ground and rebar visible and ready for new work.

  • Ready-mix delivered. A concrete truck pulls onto the lot so the new concrete goes in right where it is needed.

  • Crew places the concrete. Several crew members spread and work the concrete into each opening by hand.

Covered parking

Some commercial lots add steel canopies and covered bays on top of the concrete. These are two covered structures from Rytren Concrete jobs.

Parking lot questions

Concrete parking lot FAQ for Pearland, TX

How much does a concrete parking lot cost in Pearland?

The price depends on how many square feet are being poured, how thick the concrete needs to be, how much steel goes in it, whether an old surface has to be demolished and hauled off first, and how easy it is to get trucks and crew to the area. Eric looks at the lot before quoting, so the number fits your property. Request a quote to get one.

How thick should a parking lot slab be, and does it need steel?

It depends on what drives on it. A lot for cars and a lot with delivery trucks or heavy equipment are not asked to do the same job, so thickness and steel are matched to the use. Our slabs are formed with rebar or wire mesh before the pour. Eric talks through the plan for your lot during the quote visit.

Can you remove the old pavement before pouring new concrete?

Taking out the old surface is a common part of the job and one of the things that affects the price. The scope depends on what is there now and how much of it is failing. Where only parts of a lot are damaged, sections can be cut out and replaced, as in our storage-facility photos. Eric looks at the surface during the quote visit.

How long does a parking lot project take, and can it be done in sections?

It depends on the size of the lot, the weather and the time concrete needs to cure. A few damaged sections and a full new lot are very different jobs. Eric sets the schedule at the quote visit, once he has seen the site and knows how your business uses the space.

Which towns do you pour parking lots in?

We are based in Pearland and work in Houston, Pasadena, Alief, League City, Sugar Land, Baytown, Missouri City, Atascocita, Texas City, Manvel and Friendswood. We pour for businesses and for homeowners, so a storage lot, a shop apron and a driveway are all in scope. Request a quote to confirm your address.
